A well-designed garden can completely change the way you use and enjoy your home. Areas that feel unsafe, tired or impractical often have the potential to become some of the most valuable and enjoyable spaces in a property. This project is a great example of how thoughtful landscaping can transform an overlooked area into a safe, stylish and functional outdoor space that works beautifully with its surroundings.
Project Overview
This project focused on transforming a dangerous and unusable decking area at the rear of the property into a safe, functional and attractive patio. The aim was to create a space that blended seamlessly with the established garden, including the pond area, while improving the overall layout and usability.
Key Features
Soft yellow limestone paving was chosen to create a warm, relaxed and understated finish, complemented by silver granite step risers for a subtle contrast. Once the old decking was removed, the pond was found to be larger than expected, so it was reduced in size to give the patio a better shape and flow. This allowed the garden to retain the beautiful water feature while creating a more balanced and usable outdoor space.
